Pai · Mae Hong Son · Thailand
Home of Kru Wisarut — one of the pioneers who brought Muay Thai to Pai, and still guarding the traditional art today. Real technique, passed down round by round, in the rice paddies and mountains of northern Thailand.
Book nowThe Camp
Wisarut Muay Thai sits just outside Pai town, where mornings start early and the day's first run heads out toward the White Buddha above the valley. This is a working camp, not a fitness studio in gloves — every pad round comes with correction, and every student, from a first week on the bag to a fighter preparing for a bout, gets looked at one-on-one.
Train on the mats, build strength in the on-site gym, kit yourself out at the camp shop — and when you're ready, step through the ropes. We fight regularly across Thailand, and we'll help you find affordable accommodation nearby once you arrive.
Real Muay Thai, real coaching — no fitness-only shortcuts.
The Founder
Kru Wisarut Wat Suksiriwararak · Fighting Name Blapeebop
Long before Pai was on the backpacker map, Kru Wisarut was fighting out of these hills. Over a hundred bouts later, he became one of the pioneers who brought Muay Thai to Pai — opening his doors to local kids and travellers from every corner of the world, and teaching them the same way he was taught.
As the sport across Thailand has drifted toward entertainment and money, Kru Wisarut has stood firm on tradition: the respect, the discipline, the technique that takes years rather than weeks. Decades in the ring have earned him respect throughout the Thai fight business — and that fight to keep Muay Thai authentic is the reason National Geographic came to Pai to tell his story.

For High-Level Fighters
Kru Wisarut is deeply respected in the Thai fight business. For fighters at the top level, that reputation opens doors to major promotions — the kind of cards most foreign fighters only ever watch.
On Site
Heavy bags, open mats and an on-site gym for strength and conditioning — everything a fighter needs to build a complete engine, without leaving the camp.
Every good camp has one. Ours is usually found guarding the path in the sun — and greeting new students on their first day.
Gear up on day one. The shop stocks everything you need to train — plus Wisarut shirts and shorts to take a piece of Pai home with you.
Train Long-Term
Wisarut Muay Thai is in the process of registering as an official Muay Thai school. Once complete, the camp will be able to offer long-term DTV visas for students who want to make Pai their training home — follow us on Instagram to be first to know.

Pai sits in a valley in Mae Hong Son province, ringed by mountains and rice paddies — a slower, cooler counterpoint to the rest of northern Thailand. The camp is a short ride from Pai town, with the White Buddha visible above the valley for the morning run.
